Sir Edward Kennedy of Chappaquiddick

I guess Mary Jo Kopechne's family were shocked when they read the news in the Washington Post or in some of the other papers who reported this shameful news!

I still remember this awful incident back in 1969 when Ted Kennedy pleaded guilty for leaving the scene of a crime. The scene was the unjustified death of Mary Jo Kopechne thanks to our newly "knighted" Senator Kennedy. His cowardliness and lack of conscience was clearly demonstrated when he waited eight hours (long enough to sober up) before reporting the crash. Mary Jo was left to die in a slow and torturous manner but he was left unpunished. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning and no autopsy was performed. Kennedy had arranged to plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, thus cutting off further criminal liability. What a great example for our children in America: crime pays!
