Back to reality: Unemployment rate rose to 9.8 percent up from 9.7 percent in August

The nation's unemployment rate rose to 9.8 percent in September, up from 9.7 percent in August, the Labor Department said Friday.
The September unemployment rate is the highest in the United States since July 1983, when the unemployment rate was 10.1 percent.
