Morning traffic in downtown Houston was delayed more than usual due to a speaking engagement featuring Sarah Palin, Colin Powell, and Rudy Giuliani.
The event, titled "Get Motivated," was scheduled to take place Monday morning at the Toyota Center, but hundreds of people said crowding issues prevented them from even getting inside. Those stuck outside said they were not able to reach event organizers by phone.
According to the "Get Motivated" website, tickets cost about $50 a person or $180 for an office group.
A satellite viewing center was set up at a church on the Gulf Freeway for those who could not attend in-person. Traffic going to that location was also slow-moving.
Palin, the former Alaska Governor, was scheduled to appear with former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and former University of Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz for the all-day event.
Palin's appearance at the seminar follows her appearance on Sunday at a political rally in Cypress on behalf of Governor Rick Perry. (SOURCE)
