McCain has 15-point lead over J.D. Hayworth in Kos poll

Arizona Sen. John McCain has a 15 percentage point lead over former Rep. J.D. Hayworth in this year's Republican Senate primary, according to a Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll released Friday. McCain currently takes 52 percent of the GOP primary vote, compared with 37 percent for Hayworth. That's not an overwhelming lead for the four-term incumbent, but it's an improvement over the 7 percentage point advantage he held in a Rasmussen poll taken last month. In addition to his polling edge, McCain has a strong cash advantage over Hayworth: the senator reported raising $2.2 million in the first three months of this year and ending the quarter with $4.5 million in the bank, while Hayworth reported raising more than $1 million dollars but has not provided exact figures. Good for McCain! With this, his position on the healthcare bill and his change on securing our borders we might just get somewhere!
