Alaska: Joe Miller Senate Dispute Is Moved

A state court judge has moved a lawsuit over the Senate race from Fairbanks to the capital, Juneau. The judge, Douglas Blankenship, said that the case brought by Joe Miller, the Republican nominee, raised statewide issues and that it was inconvenient for the state to be involved in Fairbanks. Unofficial results show Senator Lisa Murkowski, a Republican who ran a write-in campaign, leading. But a federal judge halted certification, which was to take place Monday, saying Mr. Miller’s challenge to write-in ballots raised issues that a state court should consider.
