My, my, I'm having a ball! It seems Obama's News Media fans are all firing at his administration way before the end of his first 100 days! Why are they just now discovering the incompetence of the "That One Administration"? Could it be because they did not do their investigative work when they were supposed to? His cabinet picks sure know how to evade taxes, Pass Go, Collect $200 and then ask for our forgiveness without going to jail! Great game, guys!

Tom Daschle Tax Problem?
ABC reports Friday that Obama's choice for secretary of Health and Human services, Tom Daschle, is now facing tax questions regarding a borrowed car and driver.
Via Jake Tapper:
The controversy deals with a car and driver lent to Mr. Daschle by a wealthy Democratic friend, a chauffer service the former Senator used for years without declaring their use on his taxes.
It remains an open question as to whether this is a "speed bump," as a Democratic Senate ally of Mr. Daschle's put it, or something more damaging.
ABC notes that during the vetting process Daschle corrected the tax violation, paying back over $100,000 in back taxes plus interest.
More from the New York Times on what caused Daschle's tax problem:
Mr. Daschle concluded that he owed the taxes for free use of a car and driver that had been provided to him by Leo Hindery Jr., the founder of a private equity firm known as InterMedia Advisors, the officials said.
Mr. Daschle was chairman of the firm's advisory board. In a financial disclosure statement filed this month with the Office of Government Ethics, Mr. Daschle reported that he had received large amounts of income from InterMedia, including more than $2 million for consulting and $182,520 in the form of "company-provided transportation."
The belated tax payments help explain delays in the confirmation of Mr. Daschle, a former Senate Democratic leader who had been expected to win swift approval from the Senate.
The Wall Street Journal points out that Daschle may also face questions over vacations he took:
Mr. Daschle also took two vacation trips aboard a $30 million corporate jet belonging to non-profit lender EduCap, which faces a separate probe by the Finance Committee into its tax status. (full story...)
